Technical Lead (Digital Transformation - Centurion - Hybrid | Contract

ENVIRONMENT:

Our client is a trusted ICT and digital transformation partner with a strong footprint across South Africa. They deliver end-to-end advisory, innovative technology solutions, managed services, and people solutions that drive measurable business impact, scale, and regulatory compliance.  They are seeking a Technical Lead who will provide overall technology leadership, architectural direction, and technical governance for the implementation of the Smart Campus and Digital Transformation Programme. The role is responsible for ensuring that all technology solutions, platforms, integrations, infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, cloud services, digital learning systems, and Smart Campus technologies are aligned to the programme vision, enterprise architecture principles, scalability requirements, security standards, and operational objectives. The Technical Lead will act as the primary technical authority across the programme and will coordinate technical delivery across internal teams, implementation partners, OEMs, system integrators, and service providers.

 

DUTIES:

• Provide overall technical thought leadership for the Smart Campus Programme.
• Define and maintain the programmes’ end-to-end technical architecture and solution direction.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives, digital transformation goals, and technology implementation.
• Guide the development of scalable, secure, interoperable, and future-ready technology solutions.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, design principles, and implementation frameworks.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

• The ideal candidate must possess:
• Bachelor’s Degree Information Technology / Computer Science or related field.
• Honours Degree or Master’s degree in ICT or related discipline will be advantageous.

Preferred Professional Certifications

• One or more of the following will be highly advantageous:
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect / Azure Architect / AWS or Cloud certifications.
• Huawei Certified ICT Professional (HCIP) – Campus Network Planning & Deployment / Cloud Computing
• Cisco certifications.
• ITIL v4.
• Enterprise Integration certifications.

Mandatory Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in enterprise ICT environments.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in senior technical leadership or solution architecture roles.
• Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformation or Smart Campus technology programmes.
• Strong experience in enterprise solution architecture and systems integration.
• Experience coordinating multi-vendor technical delivery environments.
• Experience with cloud, infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and enterprise integrations.

Technical Competencies

• The successful candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge and practical experience in:
