Intermediate Software Developer (Angular / TypeScript) - Pretoria

ENVIRONMENT:

A growing South African software development company is looking for an Intermediate Software Developer to join its expanding engineering team. The company develops bespoke software solutions across multiple industries, with an exciting pipeline of projects focused on analytics platforms, business applications, and enterprise software.

This opportunity is ideal for a developer with 2–4 years of professional experience who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, taking ownership of projects, and contributing within a collaborative, close-knit team. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, develop scalable business applications, and play an important role in delivering innovative software solutions.  The role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects, including fleet analytics dashboards, fleet management platforms, and other custom-built business applications. DUTIES:

•       Develop and maintain modern web applications using Angular and TypeScript.

•       Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs.

•       Build, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and data-driven applications.

•       Work directly with clients to understand business requirements and deliver tailored software solutions.

•       Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from solution design and development through to deployment, testing, and support.

•       Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications.

•       Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code.

•       Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams within an Agile environment.

•       Take ownership of projects and contribute to technical discussions, solution design, and continuous improvement initiatives.

•       Assist with application performance optimisation and system enhancements.

•       Ensure software solutions meet quality, security, and performance standards.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

•       2–4 years of professional software development experience.

•       Strong experience developing applications using TypeScript and Angular.

•       Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs.

•       Good working knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.

•       Experience building data-driven applications and analytics dashboards.

•       Understanding of software development best practices, including version control and code reviews.

•       Ability to work independently while managing multiple development tasks.

•       Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders is advantageous.

•       Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is beneficial.

 

Advantageous:

•       Experience developing analytics platforms or dashboard solutions.

•       Exposure to fleet management, logistics, transport, or enterprise software environments.

•       Experience working within a small, Agile software development team.

•       Full-stack development experience.

•       Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern deployment practices.
