Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Administration
- Identify, canvass, and establish new customer accounts with strong growth potential.
- Monitor and analyse monthly sales performance for assigned customers.
- Extract and interpret daily sales data from SAP to monitor performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Provide regular customer and sales performance feedback to the Regional Manager.
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional initiatives that align customer strategies with the company's objectives.
- Support route planning in collaboration with the Warehouse and Logistics teams.
- Plan and coordinate customer trade evenings and promotional events to strengthen customer relationships and increase product awareness.
- Drive promotional campaigns to expand market share and grow the customer base.
- Assist customers with the credit application process.
- Work closely with the Debtors team to ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts and assist in resolving account-related queries.
- Identify customers that present a potential financial risk and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop appropriate action plans.
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Attend monthly Sales Business Operations (SBO) meetings and report on new business development activities.
Stock Control
- Liaise with the Warehouse to ensure adequate stock availability and resolve stock-related issues.
- Assist with consignment stock processes where required.
- Monitor customer buying trends to support accurate stock forecasting.
- Oversee stock rotation and replenishment activities.
- Assist customers in effectively managing stock levels and product mix.
Compliance
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and report operational risks to management.
- Promote compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures while supporting sound financial governance.
Customer Service
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and in line with company values.
- Conduct regular communication with the Customer Interaction Centre (CIC) and other stakeholders to ensure customer queries are resolved efficiently.
- Deliver product, pricing, and technical training to customers.
- Support the Customer Liaison team by maintaining accurate customer records.
- Provide customers with point-of-sale materials, product displays, claims support, and stock rotation guidance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information within company systems.
Cost Control
- Promote the efficient and responsible use of company resources.
- Ensure pricing structures remain accurate and up to date.
- Monitor gross profit performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs while maintaining service delivery.
- Monitor expenditure and report any deviations from budget to management.
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum- Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 5).
- A qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Up to three years' experience as a Business Representative or in a similar sales role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the automotive aftermarket or a related industry will be advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience using SAP.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Salesforce experience.
- Competency in other relevant business software applications.
