Our client who caters to the needs of South Africa’s hoteliers, restaurateurs and hospitality industry operators is urgently looking for the expertise of a Sales Representative to join their team.

REPORTS TO:      Sales Manager

JOB PURPOSE:  To grow and maximise turnover with existing and new customers

ROUTINE TASKS

• Call on existing customers, customers on database and potential customers to increase sales and meet targets exceedingly.
• Promote specials utilizing all means available at disposal to promote products on sale.
• Upselling or cross selling products and approaching new customers.
• Issuing/ sending out quotations to potential clients and existing clients.
• Follow up regularly after closing a sale to ensure client satisfaction.
• Respond promptly to customer queries and complains to find solution and to defuse tension.
• Generating leads.
• Meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Assist in determine pricing schedules for promotions.
• Preparing weekly reports.
• Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
• Coordinating and liaising with customers, production and dispatch.
• Understanding and promoting products.
• Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders.
• Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products.
• Maintaining client relationships.
• Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability.
• New business development to get new clients on board.
• Advise clients on best purchases and keep up to date and informed of the current products.
• Understand customer needs and requirements.
• Close sales and achieve monthly targets.
• Research accounts identify key players and generate interest.
• Maintain and expand database of prospects.
• Maintain GP performance.
• Various administrative duties.

GENERAL

• Do general tasks as directed by Finance Manager
• Minimize wastage
• Answer telephone offer to assist and take messages where necessary
• Keep workstation neat and tidy

HOUSEKEEPING

• Ensure, manage and enforce good housekeeping in all areas of the Sales Department

CRITICAL LIMITS

• Avert/prevent financial losses in all possible ways

OTHER

• Perform any other reasonable tasks as instructed and requested by the Finance Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric
• 1-2 years sales rep experience
• Computer literate
• Own transport is a given
• Strong admin skills

SALARY:  R22 000 (Depending on experience) + commission + travel allowance + cell phone allowance
