Our clients’ businesses are expanding their presence on online retail and marketplace platforms. The E-Commerce Coordinator will play a hands-on role in maintaining the group’s existing Takealot supplier account, supporting the onboarding of both businesses onto additional online platforms, and coordinating with the internal resource responsible for the existing WooCommerce website. This is a new role within the group, and the successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director on a wide range of day-to-day online distribution tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketplace Account Management
- Manage and maintain the existing Takealot supplier account, including product listings, pricing updates, stock availability, and order processing. Monitor and respond to platform queries, returns, and customer ratings/reviews relating to the Takealot account.
- Ensure listings remain accurate and up to date across descriptions, pricing, images, and stock levels.
- Onboarding New Platforms
- Support the onboarding of an additional supplier account on Takealot, including account setup, documentation, and initial product listing creation.
- Assist with research, documentation, and application processes for onboarding our businesses onto additional platforms such as Amazon, Makro, Leroy Merlin, OneDayOnly, and Alibaba.
- Liaise with platform representatives during onboarding and respond to information requests in a timely
- WooCommerce Coordination
- Act as the day-to-day point of coordination with the internal resource responsible for the WooCommerce
- Help align product information, pricing, and promotions on the WooCommerce site with activity across marketplace platforms.
- Reporting and Administration
- Track basic performance metrics across platforms (sales, stock levels, order fulfilment, ratings) and report regularly to the Managing Director.
- Maintain organised records of platform agreements, account information, and onboarding documentation.
- Liaise with internal sales, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure online orders are processed and fulfilled accurately and on time.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., marketing, business, or e-commerce) would be advantageous.
- 1–2 years’ experience working with online marketplaces (e.g., Takealot, Amazon, Makro) or in an online retail/e-commerce environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working with online platforms, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and able to manage multiple tasks across different platforms with minimal supervision.
