Job Purpose

The Systems Engineer Specialist will be responsible for providing specialist technical expertise and support across the organisation’s  infrastructure  environment.  The role involves the installation, configuration, optimization, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of hardware, operating systems, systems software, and related technology platforms to ensure maximum performance, availability, security, and reliability of business-critical systems within the banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and support hardware, operating systems, and systems software.
• Monitor systems performance and ensure optimal availability and reliability of infrastructure services.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to servers, operating systems, storage, and associated technologies.
• Perform system tuning, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Implement software patches, upgrades, and security updates in line with organizational standards.
• Maintain and support data management products, office automation systems, embedded systems, and utility software.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and business continuity initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with banking industry standards and security
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to resolve technical issues and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Several years of experience in Systems Engineering, infrastructure support, or similar technical role.
• Experience with server hardware, virtualization technologies, storage solutions, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience working within a highly regulated environment (Banking or Financial Services)

Advantageous

• Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, Cloud, or related infrastructure certifications
• Exposure to enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
