Regional Operations Manager Cape Town 

Our client is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead the Cape Town region within the Clearing and Forwarding. The role is responsible for regional leadership, operational performance, profitability, customer retention, governance, and sustainable growth.

The successful candidate will oversee regional teams, drive operational excellence across clearing, forwarding, customs, transport, and supply chain operations, and support business development, compliance, and key stakeholder relationships.

 

Salary: Market Related CTC

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within Clearing and Forwarding and Supply Chain operations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience managing operational and commercial functions.
  • Proven experience in business development, customer retention, revenue growth, and operational management.
  • Strong knowledge of Customs and Excise legislation.
  • Experience managing budgets, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Cargowise or similar logistics ERP system knowledge advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the regional operational and business strategy.
  • Drive operational excellence, process improvement, and service delivery standards.
  • Manage regional profitability, budgets, cost control, and financial performance.
  • Support business development, customer retention, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with Customs and Excise legislation, SHERQ, ISO, and internal governance requirements.
  • Oversee operational performance across imports, exports, customs, transport, and related logistics functions.
  • Lead, mentor, and performance manage regional teams.
  • Identify and manage operational, financial, customer, and compliance risks.
  • Support sales pipeline management, tenders, pricing, and strategic customer proposals.
  • Drive innovation, automation, and improved system utilisation.
  • Prepare and present regional performance reports and operational insights.
