- Coordination of lab resources to ensure customer demands are met effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct chemical analysis: Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to determine the composition and behaviour of materials.
- Operate and maintain equipment: Utilize a wide range of specialized laboratory instruments and software to collect and analyse data.
- Method development and validation
- Data analysis and reporting

- Operate and maintain equipment - Utilize a wide range of specialized laboratory instruments and software to collect and analyse data.
- Flexibility to work on weekends for production support and maintenance
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function.
- Provide an accurate and timeous chemical analytical service to support
- failure analysis, problem-solving and continuous improvement measures.
- Support plant with chemical technical expertise.
- Responsible for providing an analytical service to monitor critical
- production processes to ensure business needs are met.
- Analyse data obtained through regular checks to support quality demands of the business and prevent non-conformance of product and processes.
- Responsible for record keeping of test results to ensure compliance to client archiving requirements.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in area of responsibility according to good laboratory practices and quality management system in order to maintain laboratory accreditation.
- Participate in evaluation and approval of hazardous chemicals proposed
- for usage at client
- Responsible for ISIR material evaluation of localised parts and support local
- suppliers with technical expertise linked to the ISIR part approval process.
- Responsible for continuous improvement within area of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's Integrity and Anti Bribery Codes,
- Conflict of Interest Policy and S.H.E.Q requirements.
- Minimum NQF 7 Bachelor of Science (BSC) or relevant equivalent.
- 3-5 years analytical chemistry experience or relevant experience
- Analytical instruments / methods / standards
- Automotive product /technical knowledge
- Automotive paint technology standards
- QMS / ISIR /client standards and system
