Our retail / FMCG client in Johannesburg is looking for a Category manager with 3 years experience in Buying and as a Category Manager within the convenient market food retail space.
Salary Negotiable
Min Requirements
- Relevant Qualification an added bonus
- 3 years plus experience as a category manager / buyer within the retail convenience market food space
- Proven buying experience within convenience market retail bakery and/or food categories at a manufacturer level (essential)
- Strong understanding of category management and commercial drivers – convenience market retail food space
- Experience working across multi-site retail or food service environments
- Exposure to concept development and product innovation
- Packaging experience will be advantageous
Job Responsibilities
- Category Strategy & Execution
- Commercial & Buying – convenient market space
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiations
- Drive cost optimisation and margin improvement
- Product & Concept Development
- Multi-Site Performance roll out and Management
- Monitor performance across several outlets
- Support training and implementation of new initiatives
