Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer with a proven track record in building asset management systems from the ground up, to join their team on site in Namibia as they undergo a large-scale expansion project.

Critical to this role is the implementation of equipment criticality ranking, planned maintenance scheduling, shutdown planning, and CMMS data for all mobile and fixed plant.

 

Responsibilities:

• Building and implementation of an asset management system to transform engineering maintenance from the current reactive stance.
• Implement asset criticality ranking to set clear maintenance priorities across mobile and fixed plant.
• Embed PM compliance tracking with planned vs reactive work as a key performance measure.
• Standardize breakdown recording to enable effective failure analysis and continuous improvement.
• Establish disciplined shutdown planning with early scope definition and readiness.
• Ensure CMMS setup is complete for all equipment prior to commissioning.
• Develop site maintenance team capability to independently manage and sustain performance and reporting.

 

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in mining sector maintenance management across mobile fleet and fixed plant.
• Hard rock mining experience highly preferred.
• Proven expertise in building a maintenance management system from the ground up (not historical / inherited).
• Expertise in implementing criticality ranking and planned maintenance programs on mine sites.
• Experience classifying and prioritizing low-visibility, high‑frequency losses.
• Able to work within constrained environments and resources.
• Strong focus on documentation and capability transfer to ensure long‑term sustainability
