Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – POS26183

Location: Johannesburg

Salary: R1m – R1.2m (Negotiable)

 

Role Overview

This is a newly created, standalone role for a high-growth logistics and distribution leader. As the first dedicated FP&A hire, you will build the function from the ground up, moving the organization from basic reporting to sophisticated, data-driven strategy. You must be a self-starter capable of working independently to analyse profitability, COS, and labour costs.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CA(SA) highly advantageous).
• 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience, ideally within logistics, courier, or transportation sectors.
• Expert financial modelling and proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in an environment that lacks existing sophisticated financial structures.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Profitability & Revenue Analysis: Analyse revenue streams across segments and regions; identify trends in price, volume, and mix to inform commercial strategy.
• Cost Management: Monitor Cost of Sales (COS) and analyse cost drivers related to staff and subcontractors.
• Dashboarding & KPIs: Design and maintain executive dashboards; deliver monthly performance reviews and variance analysis.
• Strategic Modelling: Develop robust cashflow models and provide scenario modelling/sensitivity analysis to guide executive decisions.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the annual budgeting process and implement rolling forecasts to improve agility.
• Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and senior leadership, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
