ENVIRONMENT:
BE responsible for accurate financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with Accounting and Business regulations (IFRS, Companies Act, SARS requirements) as the next Financial Accountant sought by a provider of tailored Financial Solutions. You will support daily payments process, month-end processes, budgeting, audits, tax submissions, and financial analysis to ensure sound financial governance. The successful incumbent must possess a Bachelor’s Degree/ Honors in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent with 2–5 years relevant accounting experience including knowledge of IFRS and SARS legislation, strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas), proficiency in accounting/ERP systems & a solid understanding of IFRS and tax regulations.
DUTIES:
Financial Accounting & Reporting -
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately captured.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations (bank, debtors, creditors, accruals, provisions).
- Process journals, accruals, and adjustments in line with IFRS.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support -
- Process customer invoices and payments (AD).
- Review suppliers invoicing, receipts, and credit control activities (AP).
- Manage creditor relations and payments.
Budgeting & Forecasting -
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor actual vs budget variances and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure efficient Cash Flow Management.
Tax & Compliance -
- Prepare and submit VAT201, EMP201, and provisional tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies.
Audit Support -
- Prepare audit packs, schedules, and supporting documents.
- Liaise with external auditors to resolve queries.
Systems & Process Improvement -
- Use ERP systems (Sage, Syft) for financial processing.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Honors in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- Advantageous: SAICA/SAIPA articles completed.
Experience/Skills –
- 2–5 Years relevant accounting experience.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements.
- Knowledge of IFRS and SARS legislation.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
- Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and tax regulations.
