My client, a leading manufacturer of catering and baking equipment, is looking for a Quality Inspector to join their team in Bellville South, Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Incoming Inspection, check all goods from suppliers
• Check BOM and assure correct parts issued to production
• In process inspection through manufacturing
• Final Inspection of all products out of factory
• Check all import equipment when received
• Total Quality Management of the ISO 9001 Quality System
• Implementing and maintain the ISO 9001 Systems and Procedures. (TUV ISO 9001)
• Audit of the quality systems and Procedures according to the elements of ISO 9001
• Keep up and filing of Quality information documents
• Registration and filing of all the Inspection reports, Non Conformance Reports, Change Proposals, Concession/Deviations and Customer Complaints
• Design, Development and Industrialisation of new products. (Check that the correct process of design is followed)
• Drafting of Statistical information and Graphs on Quality costs
• Design reviews and Jig Qualifications
• Monitor of new projects according to standards and specifications
• Draft of Management information for monthly reports
• Budget Administration and quality cost
• Control of quality manuals and documents
• Draw up of quality standards, acceptance criteria and control sheets
• Investigate and solve of technical problems
• Calibration of measuring instruments and gauges and record keeping of calibration intervals
• Training of all staff and managers onto ISO 9001 systems and procedures
• Safety Representative & Fire Team.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years experience in a steel manufacturing environment.
• Previous ISO 9001-2000 experience essential
• Qualified Artisan an Advantage (Boilermaker / Fitter & Turner / Toolmaker)
• Computer literate
• Highly organized and efficient in time management
• Positive attitude and enthusiastic
• Self-motivated and dynamic
• Quick learner
• Open-minded and problem solver
• Knowledge and experience on PASTEL or a similar ERP system is essential / Computer Literate – Office / Pastel or similar Inventory Management System.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
