Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Aftersales Manager from a background in heavy mining equipment such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr or similar big brands to lead their aftersales team, from a West Africa base.
This role will be responsible for driving profitability, managing budgets, and ensuring seamless coordination between operations and senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Spearheading the department’s budgeting processes and overall financial performance.
- Preparing and presenting reports on key operational indicators.
- Increasing customer satisfaction by driving ongoing improvement efforts.
- Leading initiatives for business growth and strengthening client relationships.
- Managing warranty operations, parts sales, and service delivery functions.
- Coordinating equipment upkeep, servicing, and pre-delivery checks.
- Hiring, mentoring, and training staff to build team capability.
- Ensuring adherence to and execution of all QHSE standards and procedures.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Technical Engineering degree or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 10 years’ technical experience working with large heavy mining equipment brands – such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr or similar big brands.
- At least 5 years’ experience in aftersales and / or key account management roles for HME within the mining sector.
- Proficient in computer systems and software applications.
- In‑depth product expertise combined with strong financial insight.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and proven leadership capability.
- Skilled in client engagement, communication, and relationship management.
- Exceptional analytical abilities and strong negotiation skills.
- Prior expatriate work experience across Africa.
