The successful candidate will be responsible for to ensure that all materials, products, and supplies received into the warehouse, factory, or distribution center meet the company’s quality standards. You will be responsible for inspecting, documenting, and verifying incoming goods, identifying defects, and ensuring they are properly recorded and flagged for appropriate actions. The role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to follow specific quality protocols to guarantee that only top-quality products make it through to storage, or dispatch.

 Responsibilities  

Receiving & Inspection:

  • Inspect incoming shipments of raw materials, finished goods, or components upon arrival.
  • Verify that all goods correspond with the shipping documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, purchase orders, Invoices).
  • Perform physical inspection of products for visual defects, damages, or discrepancies in quality.

Quality Assessment:

  • Conduct measurements and testing of materials to ensure compliance with product specifications (Take of samples for QC Lab)
  • Ensure that items meet specific quality and safety standards as defined by the company or industry regulations.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming goods and inspection results.
  • Create and file reports for any non-conformities or defective goods, detailing the nature of the issue and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Report findings promptly to the QC Supervisor or relevant departments to resolve issues quickly.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to address discrepancies or quality issues in shipments.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff, logistics teams, and procurement to ensure smooth flow of goods.
  • Provide feedback to the purchasing team regarding the quality of suppliers’ shipments.
  • Inventory Control:
  • Help to organize and segregate items based on their inspection status (approved, rejected, or pending).
  • Ensure that rejected or non-compliant items are tagged and stored separately to avoid mixing them with approved products.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Follow all relevant safety guidelines and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and external regulatory standards.
  • Participate in regular safety training and quality control training programs.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Suggest improvements to the quality control process to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in audits and reviews of the QC processes as required.

Experience, skills and knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • certification in quality control, logistics, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Prior experience in an inbound logistics or QC role is highly preferred. Skills and Knowledge:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in quality control standards, procedures, and techniques
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and thorough approach to inspections.
    • Ability to identify discrepancies and potential defects that could impact product quality.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest corrective actions.
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions about product acceptance or rejection based on findings.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to report defects and interact with team members and suppliers.
    • Ability to report findings clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Standards:
    • Familiarity with industry-specific quality control standards (e.g., ISO 9001, food safety standards, etc.).
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Software Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP).
    • Experience with inventory management or quality control software is a plus.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration:
    • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments (warehouse, logistics, procurement, etc.) to ensure product quality and availability.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate weights, and handle repetitive tasks.
    • Comfort working in a warehouse setting, potentially with exposure to temperature variations or noise.

Salary: Market related + 13th cheque
