Our client in the Cold Storage and Logistics Sector, providing temperature-controlled warehousing and distribution services. They are seeking a hands-on HR Generalist with strong Industrial Relations (IR) experience to support their operations and drive effective people management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full HR function across recruitment, onboarding, performance management and termination.
- Handle all Industrial Relations (IR) matters, including chairing disciplinary hearings, issuing warnings, and advising management on labour law compliance.
- Maintain up to date employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files
- Provide guidance and support to line managers on HR policies, procedures and best practices
- Coordinate payroll input and liaise with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Oversee employee wellness, engagement initiatives, and training coordination
- Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and Employment Equity Act
- Compile and submit HR related reports and statutory requirements
- Support Health and Safety committees in line with OHS requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resource Management
- Industrial Relations
- Labour Law or related field
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist in a fast-paced environment, preferably within Cold Storage, Logistics, Manufacturing or FMCG
- Strong IR experience – proven ability to handle disputes, disciplinary actions, and CCMA matters
- Sound understanding of South African labour legislation
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Sage 300 People (HR & Payroll System)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
