Reconciliations Analyst

Job Description

Our client a specialist consultancy serving global clients, seeks a dedicated and committed Reconciliation Analyst with a keen eye for detail, excellent MS Excel skills and experience in the FinOps / Payments space to join their team.

What you will be doing:

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations across multiple payment channels and bank accounts
• Validate transactions and financial data from various sources
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready records
• Prepare reconciliation summaries and variance reports
• Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
• Collaborate on cross-team projects with finance, operations, and technical teams

What we are looking for: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years’ experience in financial operations or reconciliation (preferred)
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Familiarity with accounting systems (Sage, Xero, SAP, or similar)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Reliable transport and valid South African driver’s licence

Nice-to-Have

• SQL or database query experience
• Exposure to multi-PSP or high-volume environments
• Experience with automated reconciliation tools or scripts
• Knowledge of South African financial regulations
