Job Overview
My client in the Industrial Supplies Industry in George is looking for a reliable Driver with a valid Code B license to start as soon as possible.
You will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies whilst ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.
Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to:)
Driving and delivering services
- Transport goods safely and efficiently from the stores to customers and other designated locations.
- Ensure timely deliveries and collections as per the schedule.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods when required.
Vehicle maintenance and safety
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report any mechanical faults or damages immediately to the transport supervisor.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and presentable at all times.
Compliance and documentation
- Adhere to all road traffic rules and company driving policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, fuel usage records, and trip reports.
- Ensure all necessary delivery paperwork is completed and signed by the recipient.
Customer service
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with customers.
- Address customer inquiries related to deliveries in a polite and helpful manner.
- Handle customer complaints or escalate them to the relevant department.
General support
- Assist in Stores operations when not on delivery duty.
- Adhere to company health and safety regulations.
Know-How, Technical Skills and Experience
- Matric/Grade 12 (NQF 4) is essential
- Valid driver’s license is essential
- 1 – 2 years’ proven experience as a driver
- Valid PDP is advantageous

- Attention to detail with a proactive approach
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of local routes
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively and efficiently
