- Develop and implement a comprehensive Sustainability Management System across the Groups and its subsidiaries.
- Drive the integration of sustainability principles into product development, manufacturing operations, corporate policies, and long-term facility planning.
- Champion the execution of the Group’s corporate sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader Group objectives.
- Cultivate a culture of sustainability throughout the organization by embedding accountability, encouraging innovation, and promoting active community and stakeholder engagement.
- Identify and implement revenue-generating initiatives from production waste streams, enhancing environmental and financial performance.
- Leverage available government incentive schemes to strengthen the Group’s financial position and fund sustainable initiatives.
- Improve non-financial reporting by leading accurate, transparent ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting in line with international standards.
- Enhance regulatory compliance and manage reputational risk by proactively addressing environmental trust concerns among stakeholders.
- Support data analysis and reporting processes to improve the quality, accuracy, and impact of sustainability reporting.
- Increase organizational awareness and drive a mindset shift toward environmental and social responsibility across all levels of the company.
- National Diploma, B.Sc., or B-Tech in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Sustainability Management, or Engineering.
- A postgraduate qualification in Business Management or Business Administration is an added advantage.
- 5–10 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of 3 years in a sustainability management or environmental leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in delivering impactful sustainability projects and embedding sustainability in business operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government entities, particularly at regional and municipal levels, including the Department of Trade and Industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an innovative, solution-oriented mindset.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Experience with ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability disclosures.
- Skilled in scoping large-scale sustainability projects, including developing funding and investment strategies.
- Familiarity with influencing national and regional environmental policy and legislation.
- Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation.
- Experience in water and effluent treatment technologies.
