Job Description:

Our client is seeking a degree qualified Operational Readiness General Manager with a background in mineral processing projects to support the group operations across international mining sites, based out of Gauteng.

 

Responsibilities:

• Leading the delivery of operational readiness services across the EMEA region to provide support to mineral processing and mining projects across all phases of development, execution and operations.
• Supporting group development, standardization and executing of the service offering.
• Overseeing scoping, planning and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure effective client preparation for commissioning, ramp up and transitioning to operations.
• Direct responsibility for safety, production, performance, and multi-functional integration within site operations.
• Taking ownership and management of the operational readiness pipeline.
• Assisting in proposal development, client scoping and resource alignment.
• Leading and coaching Operational Readiness Project Managers to ensure effective delivery across all project stages.
• Monitoring project progress, cost control, risk management and stakeholder alignment.
• Ensuring sufficient functional and SME support is mobilized for each project.

 

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical or Mining Engineering (or a similar relevant field).
• Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Business Management (or similar) preferred.
• 10 years’ experience in mineral processing and mining operations, with a minimum of 5 years at senior management level.
• 5 years’ experience in project delivery, commissioning or operational readiness, with experience across all project phases.
• Thorough operational understanding gained through hands on experience, with the capability of translating operational needs into project readiness contexts.
• Capable of leading cross-functional teams with effective liaison with clients, EPCMs and internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in providing support for proposals, scoping efforts and business development.
