My client based in Cape Town CBD is hiring a Tax Accountant to manage and optimise their Group’s tax compliance, reporting and planning functions. This is a hands-on role with exposure to both local and international tax matters, ideal for someone who thrives on technical challenges and continuous learning.

 

What you’ll be doing:

• Ensure accurate compliance with direct and indirect tax legislation, including VAT, import VAT and withholding taxes

• Prepare company income tax returns, provisional tax calculations and year-end tax computations

• Maintain monthly tax account reconciliation’s and manage the tax asset register

• Conduct tax research and collaborate on tax-related projects with internal and external stakeholders

• Contribute to Accounting and Tax Forums, including IFRS impact reviews and AFS preparation

• Train internal teams on tax matters relevant to their functions

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a strong tax focus

• 2–5 years of tax-specific experience

• Solid understanding of financial accounting and IFRS

• Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office

• Experience with regulatory bodies; retail sector experience is a bonus

• Detail-driven, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure
