Our client is looking for an experienced HR Controller to join their team. This is an HR-focused position dedicated to supporting the company’s Logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating HR administrative functions and delivering a full-spectrum HR service within a warehouse environment. The role requires someone who can ensure operational efficiency, maintain legal compliance, and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across departments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition: Manage and coordinate the recruitment process in line with internal policies to ensure fair and effective hiring that meets operational needs.
  • Onboarding: Assist in the planning and delivery of comprehensive induction programs for new warehouse employees.
  • Grievance Management: Coordinate grievance procedures in accordance with company policies and best practices.
  • Disciplinary Support: Provide guidance on disciplinary issues and coordinate hearings as required.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with internal policies and labour legislation.
  • CCMA Readiness: Support CCMA-related processes and demonstrate a working knowledge of dispute resolution procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with operational leaders and employees across departments.
  • Culture Building: Support initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Reporting: Compile and submit accurate weekly and monthly HR reports for internal use.
  • HR Administration: Perform all HR-related administrative tasks, including documentation for recruitment and industrial relations.
  • Learning & Development: Support training coordination and assist with skills development programs.
  • Equity Compliance: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the company’s Employment Equity Plan.
  • Legislative Advisory: Advise line managers on HR legislation and ensure compliance with South African labour laws.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential
  • HR qualification (Diploma or Degree) – essential
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar HR or Industrial Relations role, preferably in a logistics or warehouse environment
  • Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and HR practices
  • Demonstrated experience with disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Familiarity with CCMA processes
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Ability to work independently and deliver excellent service to internal stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making ability and sound judgment
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment
  • Effective report-writing skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and proactive
