We are seeking a qualified and experienced Tax Admin Clerk for our client in Port Elizabeth.
 
detail-oriented and efficient Tax Admin Clerk/Student is sought to manage tax administration processes, ensure SARS compliance, and support client communication in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Administration
  • Handle SARS registrations/deregistrations (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, UIF, Diesel, PBO, NPO).
  • Manage SARS tax clearances (normal & foreign) and ensure timely submissions via eFiling.
  • Process SARS receipts, refunds, and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate tax schedules, logbooks, and audit-ready supporting documents.
  • Assist with monthly tax reports, dividend and donation registers.
  • Review and print monthly statements of account.
Client & SARS Interaction
  • Communicate with SARS and clients regarding queries, deadlines, and payments.
  • Attend SARS meetings/appointments as needed.
  • Facilitate smooth coordination between clients, SARS, and internal teams.
Software & Records Management
  • Use Accfin, Greatsoft, Excel, and other systems for tax data and correspondence.
  • Maintain up-to-date and organized records for audits and efficiency.
  • Update internal databases with current client and SARS data.
Compliance & Support
  • Stay updated on SARS regulations and tax legislation.
  • Educate clients on tax obligations and assist with payments.
  • Respond to tax-related emails promptly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Experience in tax administration and SARS eFiling.
  • Strong knowledge of tax law and SARS procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Office, and accounting software (Accfin/Sage).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport.
  • Diploma or degree in Tax, Accounting, or related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with VAT, PAYE, Customs, etc.
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Professional, client-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
