Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and promotional deals
- Maintain accurate records of all supplier transactions
- Manage stock levels, product availability, and service levels in line with budget and sales targets
- Oversee product ranges within assigned butchery categories
- Drive sales growth through strategic promotions and product innovation
- Monitor consumer and market trends to inform buying decisions
- Support advertising and promotional activities
- Build strong working relationships with Butchery Managers and Store Owners
- Ensure profitability for both the Distribution Centre (DC) and retail outlets
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:- National Senior Certificate (Matric) – Required
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Purchasing, or Commerce – Recommended
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the butchery or meat industry – Essential
- Prior FMCG buying experience – Essential
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Deep understanding of butchery product ranges and supplier networks
- Knowledge of buying systems and procurement processes
- Analytical and financially literate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an advantage
- Hands-on approach with a strong sense of initiative and creativity
