Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for numbers and a knack for managing supplier relationships? We’re searching for a proactive and efficient Accounts Payable Controller to join my clients dynamic Finance team for a short-term contract to start immediately.
This is your opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity and smooth operation of a leading brand in the FMCG, Hospitality, and QSR sectors. You’ll take ownership of the accounts payable function processing invoices, managing reconciliations, preparing payments, and collaborating with both internal teams and valued suppliers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of all creditor account statements and compare to general ledger accounts
- Assemble, review, and process invoices for payment, request payment approvals
- Clarify questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures with suppliers
- Reconcile post-business transactions, process invoices, and approved credit notes
- Maintain confidentiality and always protect the organisation’s value
- Communicate exceptions in expenses and out-of-the-ordinary transactions and invoices
- Ensure creditor payments are loaded on the banking portal accurately and timeously
- Complete ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as requested by the Financial Accountant
What You’ll Bring:
- A related tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar account payable or finance role
- Industry experience in FMCG, Hospitality, or QSR is highly advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Sage Pastel
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken)
