Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Mechatronics Engineer to join their dynamic team in Durban.
 
Job Responsibilities: 
  • Provide maintenance support to the site, utilising new/ current technology to enable local/ international competition in line with business plan.
  • Liaise with departments to obtain time-outs technical information to implement changes/projects within the timeline.
  • Assess current plant, equipment and processes in view of design improvements, process optimisation and cost reduction.
  • Maintain records and history of all downtime. Ensure root cause analysis is performed to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensure handover conducted between shifts.
  • Closing and tracking of all open jobs raised in maintenance
  • Ensure safety of all people interacting with the automated production facilities and processes in plating.
  • Performance in accordance with project and quality timing plans.
  • The effective implementation of Automation for new products from Sourcing, Costing and Product implementation.
  • High quality and standards of equipment, process and control thereof.
  • Ongoing preventative maintenance to ensure that the plating plant is always running at its optimum.
  • Prevent breakdowns through preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to project and timing plans in the line with the Projects development timing programs for the facility readiness.
  • Ensure that the site complies with all electrical and mechanically safety/compliance regulations.
  • Manage project implementation and industrialisation of new products and technologies.
  • Provide maintenance and breakdown support.
  • Maintain accurate and documented records of all maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Compile and update written communication (graphs, reports etc.) in line with audit requirement.
  • Ensure ancillary equipment in the plating plant is always maintained and operates reliably.
  • Ensure that Quality, Safety, Health and Environment requirements are always met specifically to maintenance.
  • Continuous improvement in all aspects of maintenance in the plating plant.
  • Housekeeping and 4S in the maintenance department.
  • Promote environmental awareness regarding the potential impact of activities, process and materials utilized.
  • Compile, maintain and improve on preventative maintenance schedule based on good practice and servicing requirements
Job Requirements: 
  • Technical N5/N6 qualification.
  • Trade tested Electrician / Millwright
  • Preferred National Diploma in electronics engineering or similar qualification in maintenance management
  • Advantageous: Mechatronics qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years related experience in artisan field and a production environment advantageous Robotics Programming or similar
  • PLC, Fault finding, Advantageous robotics programming, welding and fabrication
