New role is available for our client in the FMCG industry for a TPM & Capability Specialist, role will be based in Port Elizabeth.
 
Purpose of the job:Execution and management of the TPM program at site level including the management of training and development linked to key strategic capabilities. The role is responsible for driving continuous improvement activities and capability development impacting Safety, Quality & Performance at site level including operational setup activities linked to the site.

  • TPM Implementation & Leadership:
    • Lead TPM methodology execution across plant operations.
    • Promote TPM tools, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
    • Conduct audits and coach improvement teams (Kaizen, APM).
  • Training & Capability Development:
    • Develop and deliver technical and functional training plans (CAD).
    • Identify and close competency gaps across teams.
    • Lead onboarding and reward & recognition programs.
  • Loss Analysis & Improvement:
    • Manage and analyze plant loss data to support targeted reduction plans.
    • Facilitate root cause analysis and support improvement activities (UPS, 5Why, Fishbone).
    • Champion cross-functional collaboration to eliminate man/method-related losses.
  • Digital & Strategic Tools Implementation:
    • Deploy digital tools (Connected Worker, Smart Brewery use cases).
    • Track and report TPM, training, and performance KPIs.
  • Governance & Strategic Alignment:
    • Maintain TPM project plans and drive alignment across all pillars.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environment, and quality standards.
    • Mentor TPM coordinators and support PDP development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
    • NDiploma or B.Tech in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Management.
    • Postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years in operations, quality, or supply chain management.
    • 2+ years of practical TPM or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) experience.
    • Experience in learning & development within supply chain contexts.
  • Skills:
    • Strong presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced computer literacy and basic engineering knowledge.
    • Effective communication across all organizational levels.
