New Vacancy!! Our well known client in the Manufacturing Sector is looking to employ a Operations Manager to join their dynamic team in Cape Town - Waterfront.
 
Job Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee end-to-end warehousing operations, including receipt of bulk bags, storage, de-bagging, and dispatch.
  • Manage inventory control, warehouse layout, and space utilization across multiple facilities.
  • Supervise the de-bagging process and ensure product is loaded into bulk tankers/trucks accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Coordinate closely with shipping agents, transport providers, and internal logistics teams to manage schedules and turnaround times.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations within the port and warehouse operations.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Manage warehouse teams including supervisors, operators, and labour, ensuring strong leadership, training, and performance management.
  • Liaise with Transnet and port authorities to maintain good operational standing and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Support the Head of Operations in strategic planning, budgeting, and operational forecasting
Job Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5  years of operations/warehouse/logistics management experience, preferably in bulk materials, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of port logistics, warehousing best practices, and material handling processes.
  • Proven experience managing teams and third-party service providers.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance regulations (preferably within Transnet/port environments).
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office Suite.
