We are seeking a Junior IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients and end-users with technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and providing general support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. This involves working closely with the IT team to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This is not limited to the IT helpdesk and may include additional support.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests from end-users via phone, email, or in-person. Provide timely and effective technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to computer hardware, software applications, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
- Set up and support end-user workstations, including the installation of peripheral devices. Provide basic training to end-users on the use of hardware and software applications. Create user documentation and guides for common issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates and patches.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Escalate issues to senior IT staff when necessary. Conduct remote troubleshooting.
- Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue. Customize desktop applications to meet user needs.
- Record technical issues and solutions in logs.
- Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.
- Report on customer feedback and potential product requests
- Assist with the creation of IT documentation, administration, including user manuals and training materials.
- Assist with creating training content and training internal staff and clients.
- Assist with the deployment of new hardware and software across the company.
- Research and deployment of new software.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Basic experience working in an IT support role with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- A strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and Active Directory, Microsoft 365
- Basic troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and take on new challenges.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- After-hours support required when necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant IT qualification or industry certification (e.g. CompTIA A+, CCNA, MCSA) is desirable but not essential.
