Job Descritption
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head their Business Services division within the Tax & Legal department in the South East Islands. This role will also have oversight of their Global Employee Services offering and reports into the Tax & Legal Business Unit Leader. The successful candidate will join the leadership team at either Partner or Director level, depending on experience, and play a key role in driving innovation, growth, and excellence across their client portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping and Transaction Processing: Ensure efficient and timely delivery of day-to-day accounting services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations
- Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and lodgement of tax returns, salary and wages tax, and other indirect tax filings
- Payroll Services: Manage end-to-end payroll processing services, ensuring compliance with tax laws and employment regulations
- Virtual CFO Services: Provide high-level financial oversight and strategic support to clients, acting as a trusted advisor and virtual CFO
- Process Improvement & Advisory: Identify opportunities to streamline client finance operations, strengthen internal controls, and improve reporting processes
- Leading the Global Employee Services team, which supports clients with the mobility and management of their global workforce
- Expatriate Tax & Employment Tax Advisory: Provide tax planning and compliance services for inbound and outbound expatriates, including income tax, social security, and fringe benefits tax implications
- Payroll Structuring & Shadow Payroll: Advise on payroll structuring for international assignees and oversee shadow payroll arrangements to ensure correct tax withholding and reporting
- Mobility Program Support: Assist clients with the design and implementation of international mobility programs, ensuring compliance with local laws and alignment with global HR policies
- Immigration & Work Permit Support: Liaise with internal and external partners to support clients in managing work permits, visa applications, and related compliance matters for expatriate employees
- Assignment Cost Projections & Policy Design: Develop cost projections for international assignments and advise clients on mobility policies, tax equalization, and compensation planning
- Cross-Border Social Security & Treaty Analysis: Advise on social security obligations and double tax treaty positions for cross-border workers and short-term assignees
- Client Training & Awareness: Conduct workshops, webinars, and updates for clients to ensure awareness of changes in employment and tax legislation affecting global mobility
Requirements:
- CA(SA)
- Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in tax, business services, or global mobility, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Deep understanding of business services delivery models, tax compliance and advisory, and employment tax matters
- Previous experience at a Big 4 Firm
- This is a role that requires relocation
