Online Marketing Assistant - In office - Cape Town - Datafin IT Recruitment
ENVIRONMENT:
A company who provides websites and online marketing solutions is looking for an Online Marketing Assistant to join the team. This role sits at the heart of the department's day-to-day operations, ensuring client accounts run smoothly and nothing falls through the cracks. This isn't a highly technical role, but you'll need a natural ability to manage a high volume of tasks. You'll report to the Head of Online.
DUTIES:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily engagement across client Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- Create social media content and write engaging captions using Canva and AI tools.
- Plan and schedule social media posts, including monthly content calendars and holiday campaigns.
- Monitor advertising spend and boost posts within allocated budgets.
- Prepare and distribute monthly client performance reports.
- Manage new client onboarding and advertising campaign administration.
- Handle account administration and ensure all client deliverables are completed on time.
- Liaise with clients regarding day-to-day account requirements and queries.
Daily Tasks:
- Monitor notifications across all client social media accounts.
- Respond to comments and direct messages.
- Forward legitimate customer enquiries to the relevant clients for follow-up.
- Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets.
- Share property listings on Facebook.
Weekly Tasks:
- Plan and coordinate upcoming weekly social media activities.
- Research relevant articles and content aligned with each client’s brand and messaging.
- Promote posts through Meta Business Manager or standard post boosting.
- Monitor advertising spend, manage budgets and carry forward any unspent budget to subsequent campaigns.
- Meet with the Head of Online and freelancers to discuss workloads, new clients and upcoming tasks.
Monthly Tasks:
- Prepare monthly client performance reports.
- Distribute completed reports to all clients.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Set up and optimise social media pages for new clients.
- Collaborate with the team to resolve queries and account-related issues.
- Troubleshoot social media account challenges directly with clients.
- Provide general support across social media campaigns and client accounts as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–2 years’ experience in social media within a formal working environment.
- Previous project management experience would be advantageous.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, Canva and Facebook Ads.
- Experience with a social media management platform such as Metricool would be advantageous.
