Trying to break into software development but keep seeing jobs asking for 2–3 years of experience?

This one is different.

We’re recruiting a Junior Web Developer (JB6277) for a growing digital agency in Port Elizabeth. This is a genuine entry-level opportunity for someone who may not have years of commercial experience yet, but can show us that they have the aptitude, curiosity and drive to become a great developer.

You could be self-taught. You could have recently completed your studies. You may even have started a degree or diploma and not finished it. A university qualification is not a requirement.

What we do need to see is that you’ve actually been building things.

Personal projects, GitHub repositories, coursework, freelance projects, websites or applications you’ve experimented with all count. We want to see someone who enjoys figuring out how things work and doesn’t give up the moment the code doesn’t behave.

You’ll join an experienced development team, work on real web-based products, and gain exposure to technologies including Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL, as well as AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Codex.

And there’s room to grow. The company’s approach is simple: the quicker you learn, contribute and make yourself valuable, the quicker you can progress in responsibility and earning potential.
