ENVIRONMENT:
A provider of innovative Digital Solutions is looking for an Intermediate Project Manager who independently manages medium-sized software implementation projects across the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget and quality standards. The role is accountable for project planning, stakeholder engagement, financial tracking, governance, risk management and successful implementation outcomes. The Intermediate Project Manager coordinates multidisciplinary delivery teams while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the commercial objectives of the company. Success in this role is measured through consistent project delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, governance compliance, financial control and achievement of the Implementation & Delivery departmental KPIs

DUTIES:
- Manage assigned implementation projects from initiation through project closure.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate project activities across Business Analysis, Development, Quality Assurance, Implementation Consulting and Customer Support teams.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables remain aligned with approved scope and timelines.
- Manage project dependencies and coordinate project activities across multiple workstreams.
- Deliver projects according to the company’s project management methodology.
- Prepare project plans, budgets and resource forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Track project profitability and escalate commercial risks promptly.
- Maintain accurate project forecasts throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure project timesheets are submitted accurately and on time.
- Support project invoicing through accurate reporting and milestone validation.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned client projects.
- Build effective relationships with client stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops and governance sessions.
- Provide accurate project status reports and executive summaries.
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout project delivery.
- Escalate issues requiring senior intervention appropriately.
- Maintain complete project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
- Ensure all project changes follow approved governance processes.
- Maintain project audit trails and document version control.
- Ensure contractual deliverables remain aligned with Statements of Work and project agreements.
- Support compliance with organisational policies and applicable legislation.
- Monitor project quality throughout delivery.
- Coordinate testing, user acceptance activities and deployment readiness.
- Support successful user adoption through effective project planning.
- Coordinate implementation training activities with delivery teams.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Participate in project retrospectives and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support Junior Project Managers and Project Administrators where required.
- Collaborate closely with Implementation Consultants, Business Analysts, Engineering, Product and Customer Support teams.
- Promote effective communication across all project stakeholders.
- Support knowledge sharing across the Project Management practice.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes.
- Contribute to improvements in project methodology, governance and reporting.
- Promote standardisation of project documentation and delivery practices.
- Support AI-enabled project planning, reporting and delivery tools.
- Contribute lessons learned to the departmental knowledge repository.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Management, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner, PMP or CAPM certification, Agile Project Management or Scrum certification or Microsoft Project certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience managing software implementation or ICT projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects independently across the complete project lifecycle.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks and stakeholders.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Experience preparing project governance documentation and executive reporting.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery.
- Excellent organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira or similar project management platforms.
- Experience working within public-sector or enterprise software implementation environments is advantageous.
