Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate daily logistics and fleet operations.
  • Oversee the movement and transportation of raw materials, biomass and finished products.
  • Manage the company’s vehicle and fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are available, safe and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate vehicle scheduling, routing and utilisation to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance, servicing, repairs and licensing requirements.
  • Manage external transporters and logistics service providers where applicable.
  • Monitor fuel usage, vehicle costs and overall fleet operating expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant transport, road safety, health and safety requirements.
  • Manage and monitor driver performance, including adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Investigate and address vehicle incidents, breakdowns and operational delays.
  • Maintain accurate fleet, transport and logistics records and reports.
  • Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, warehouse and other departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
  • Manage logistics-related suppliers and service providers.
  • Ensure effective planning of deliveries and collections in line with operational requirements.
  • Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, logistics costs, utilisation and operational issues.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management or a related field will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Logistics / Fleet Management role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, forestry, agriculture or related environment.
  • Proven experience managing fleet operations and drivers.
  • Experience with transport planning, vehicle scheduling and fleet maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes and transport operations.
  • Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong administrative, organisational and problem-solving skills.
