- Manage and coordinate daily logistics and fleet operations.
- Oversee the movement and transportation of raw materials, biomass and finished products.
- Manage the company’s vehicle and fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are available, safe and properly maintained.
- Coordinate vehicle scheduling, routing and utilisation to optimise operational efficiency.
- Monitor fleet maintenance, servicing, repairs and licensing requirements.
- Manage external transporters and logistics service providers where applicable.
- Monitor fuel usage, vehicle costs and overall fleet operating expenses.
- Ensure compliance with relevant transport, road safety, health and safety requirements.
- Manage and monitor driver performance, including adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
- Investigate and address vehicle incidents, breakdowns and operational delays.
- Maintain accurate fleet, transport and logistics records and reports.
- Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, warehouse and other departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Manage logistics-related suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure effective planning of deliveries and collections in line with operational requirements.
- Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, logistics costs, utilisation and operational issues.
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Logistics / Fleet Management role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, forestry, agriculture or related environment.
- Proven experience managing fleet operations and drivers.
- Experience with transport planning, vehicle scheduling and fleet maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes and transport operations.
- Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong administrative, organisational and problem-solving skills.
