Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Import & Export Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient movement of import and export shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely delivery, and compliance with customs and company requirements. The role will involve liaising with clients, agents, shipping lines, transporters, and other service providers while maintaining high standards of accuracy, service, and operational efficiency.

customs controller exports import and export controller imports logistics shipping- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within the freight forwarding, customs, shipping, import/export, or logistics industry.
- Practical knowledge and experience in import and export procedures, including customs processes and documentation.
- Sound understanding of both sea and airfreight operations.
- Proven experience coordinating container movements, transportation, and depot-related activities.
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage and track multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise professionally with clients, agents, shipping lines, transporters, and other service providers.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Shipshape and Navis would be considered a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of applicable customs, international trade, and exchange-control regulations would be beneficial.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while working under pressure and consistently meeting operational deadlines.
- Strong compliance focus, with a commitment to following company procedures, operational processes, and quality standards.
