Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare competitive tenders to win projects and enable the execution team to ensure efficient plant operation, efficient preventative and corrective maintenance and achieving and improving of financial objectives.
- Interpretation & Implementation of Client Requirements and Specifications
- Establish and maintain a positive and informative relationship with the services execution team, clients and suppliers/subcontractors.
- Assist services management to establish and improve systems and procedures for effective service delivery including plant design, operation and maintenance.
- Process design development through careful selection of process treatment technologies based on company design guidelines and good engineering practice, providing cost-effective solutions whilst ensuring technical compliance with client requirements
- Represent the company during meetings with potential customers, vendors and subcontractors
- Preparation of engineering design deliverables for tenders & studies for example, technical & process descriptions, PFD’s, PID’s, datasheets, etc
- Participating in HAZOP/HAZAN studies, value engineering exercises and design reviews if required.
- Preparation of Technical Specifications of equipment for Request for Quotations
- Technical evaluation of vendor proposals
- Technical clarifications with client
- Keep up to date with latest technologies, design tools & guidelines and developments inside the company, in the water, waste and energy field and from local/ international suppliers
- Coordinating project strategies and risk assessments in collaboration with BS&P, and taking responsibility for risk mitigation proposals.
- Ensuring that the proposed solutions comprehensively address safety, quality, risk management, and overall performance
Duties
- Co-ordinate the submission of Tenders, Proposals and Quotations.
- Develop accurate financial/ commercial models to determine competitive and viable pricing structures for projects (Bespoke Onsite services and Projects)
- Work closely with the services execution divisions to determine competitive life cycle costs where on site services are combined with the EPC of new water, energy and waste treatment plants.
- Process design development through careful selection of process treatment technologies based on company design guidelines and good engineering practice, providing cost-effective solutions whilst ensuring technical compliance with client requirements
- Assist in the drafting and checking of contracts.
- Assist with site establishment, commencement and initial monitoring of new on-site service projects.

- Ensure the plant operates within specification, trending results and optimisation thereof.
- To direct & develop the implementation of company standards and systems and develop a reliable operations database.
- Ensure the application of contractual standards and regulations.
- Adhere to the following guidelines for the successful execution of contracts and tenders.
i. Organise a tender kick-off meeting.
ii. Study the tender carefully and objectively and understand clearly the responsibilities and deliverables.
iii. Identify problem areas, define split in scope of responsibilities and formulate solutions.
iv. Follow the tender programme conscientiously.
v. Coordinate technical resources related to plant design and estimation of costs associated with the proposal or tender
vi. Develop process design including but not limited to PIDs, Mass balances and technology selection
vii. Develop schedules including but not limited to equipment schedules, battery limit schedules, quality control (laboratory) schedules, chemical consumption schedules, consumables consumption and maintenance schedules
viii. Development of all relevant documentation related to the preparation of a compliant proposal, tender or quotation
ix. Communicate with the client as needed and maintain an accurate record of this.
Candidate Requirements
- BTech/BSc in an engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil (Water) at a recognised institution or assessed equivalent competence.
- Minimum of 1-3 years working experience in Water/Wastewater treatment or Energy production/generation industry.
- Experience in advanced processes for water treatment (i.e. ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis processes, filtration, biological treatment etc.) and/or energy production (i.e. CHPs, turbines, electricity generation, waste to energy projects)
- Knowledge of commercial terms.
- Computer literate (Google slides, Google documents, Google sheets).
- Organisation skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
