Our Client in the Manufacturing sector has a new vacancy for a Hybrid Coffee Technician based in Durban - Pinetown.

- Grade 12 (Matric).
- N6 Electrical or Mechanical Diploma (advantageous).
- Proven experience within the coffee or beverage equipment industry.
- Technical experience in refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, or related fields.
- Valid Code B Driver's Licence.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Willingness to work standby and after-hours callouts when required.
Skills & Knowledge
Technical Skills
- Experience servicing and maintaining commercial coffee machines, vending machines, and fully automatic beverage equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and basic software fault-finding.
- Knowledge of refrigeration and beverage dispensing systems.
- Ability to install, calibrate, test, commission, and repair equipment.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of SHEQ standards and safe working procedures.
- Sound understanding of stock control and vehicle/tool management.
Administration
- Accurate completion of job cards, service reports, inspection checklists, and stock documentation.
- Experience using service management systems (e.g. CallRunna or similar).
- Good planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage workloads and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
Customer Service
- Professional communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to explain technical issues in a customer-friendly manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing commercial coffee and beverage dispensing equipment while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with company standards.Technical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and software faults.
- Install, commission, calibrate and test coffee and beverage equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
- Perform sanitation and cleaning of draught and beverage dispensing equipment.
- Escalate complex technical issues where necessary.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality standards before equipment is returned to service.
Service Delivery
- Respond to service calls within agreed SLA timeframes.
- Participate in standby and emergency callout duties.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and maintenance.
- Promote excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
