Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Foreman to oversee maintenance activities on site in Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will supervise maintenance teams and ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of underground mobile equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety and company requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance teams and daily activities.
- Ensure statutory and workplace inspections are completed to the required standard.
- Maintain high equipment availability and reliability.
- Ensure planned maintenance schedules are completed.
- Reduce repeat breakdowns and equipment failures.
- Monitor maintenance response and repair times.
- Ensure quality of completed maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain accurate and complete maintenance records.
- Control overtime, spares, consumables and maintenance costs.
- Manage employee performance, discipline and development.
- Maintain good housekeeping and workshop standards.
- Ensure effective communication and shift handovers.
- Implement and close out audit and investigation findings.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate.
- 5+ years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic in underground TMM environments with 2+ years experience in a supervisory position.
- Previous experience in hard rock underground trackless mining environments.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing Epiroc drill rigs, dump trucks and LHDs.
- Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic circuits.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to manage maintenance activities, people and resources effectively.
