QUANTITY SURVEYOR – ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR - The Recruiter

A well-established and growing electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Cape Town team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has a strong understanding of electrical installations, cost control, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate project cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Complete quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical installations.
• Evaluate tenders, quotations, and subcontractor claims.
• Manage contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Prepare monthly valuations, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports to management.
• Procure materials and subcontractor packages where required.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric.
• Bachelor's Degree, National Diploma, or BTech in Quantity Surveying.
• 5–10 years' Quantity Surveying experience, preferably within the electrical contracting industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and cost management.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and financial management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's licence.
