Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer (VMware) (CPT Onsite) - Datafin IT Recruitment

ENVIRONMENT:

A dynamic Internet Service & Network Specialist seeks a highly technical Senior 3 Line Support Engineer with strong VMware whose core role will be to provide virtualisation infrastructure support. You will carry out Preventative Maintenance, architect new solutions while assisting 2 Line Support Engineers with escalations. The successful incumbent must have Matric/Grade 12, a relevant IT tertiary qualification with Certifications including VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Linux KVM. You must also have VCTA-DCV 2024 with 10+ years’ experience supporting datacentre software in a senior position. Your tech toolset should include VMware, vSphere, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Linux KVM, SRM, vRealize Operations & Veeam.

DUTIES:

• VMware Support Specialist.
• Proactive analysis of system health with in-depth reporting.
• Preventative Maintenance.
• Architect new solutions.
• Assist with escalations from 2 Line Support Engineers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications -

• Matric \ Grade 12 (Compulsory).
• Tertiary IT qualification.
• Must-Have Certifications – VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Linux KVM.

Experience/Skills –

• VCTA-DCV 2024.
• At least 10+ years’ experience supporting datacentre software in a senior position.
• Ability to identify and understand problems and find suitable solutions.
• Conscious of delivering solutions on time.
• Ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions with the technical team.
• Self-managed.
• Own reliable transport and valid Driver’s License.
