Our manufacturing client in Milnerton Cape Town is looking for an Interior Designer with experience in space planning, and interior layout optimization. You need a strong understanding of furniture design and cabinetry construction.

Min Requirements
- Diploma in interior design or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (essential) / proficiency in AUTOCAD / CATIA
- Strong understanding of space planning and interior layout optimisation.
- Strong understanding of furniture design and cabinetry construction.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing requirements.
- Strong computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
- Developing interior layouts and concepts
- Creating detailed 2D and 3D interior designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Designing furniture, cabinetry, and bespoke interior components
- Producing manufacturing drawings and design documentation for production.
- Optimising interior spaces with a strong focus on ergonomics, functionality, and aesthetics.
- Selecting appropriate materials, finishes, fabrics, and fittings while considering durability as well as creating FF&E schedules and mood boards.
- Collaborating with naval architects, engineers, and production teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and aesthetically pleasing.
- Participating in design reviews and incorporating feedback from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with prototype development and resolving design-related issues during production.
- Ensuring all designs comply with company standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Keeping abreast of current trends in interior design, furniture design, and luxury interiors.
